Set in a remote countryside of India, The Last Film Show is part autobiographical and part lyrical tribute to passion for cinema. On discovering film, SAMAY, age 9, and his wild bunch of kids move heaven and earth to catch light, control light –and then project that light to achieve a 35mm film projection. But when all attempts fail, Samay ends up meeting a film projector operator FAZAL. Samay makes a deal with Fazal to swap his school lunchbox for free movies. What follows is an amazing bond between the two leading Samay to think, invent, lie, steal, run, fall, rise -and finally using innovative hack, he jubilantly succeeds in making a film projection apparatus. But little does he know that the digital era is arriving to annihilate film and celluloid from the face of the earth…
